Wedding at deCordova Museum: Mike + Siobhan [peek]

You may remember Mike and Shioban from their engagement session last month. This past Saturday, they were married at the deCordova Museum, outdoors, (braving the 90+ degree temperatures), sharing the day with their close friends and family. A full post, with many more pictures of the day, is forthcoming, next week. Until then, enjoy a few images from the day.

Lauran + Dominic couldn’t have asked for a better day weather-wise for their Boston City Wedding. They were blessed with a wonderful wedding day, including a beautiful ceremony and a reception, celebrating with their closest friends and family. I’m so happy to share their day, captured on “film”. You’ll see here some of my favorites along with a few images from my second photographer Kim. Enjoy! [A slideshow of all the images in this post can be found at the end for your viewing pleasure.]

The day began with Lauran and Dominic getting ready at the Park Plaza Hotel, close to the church. Lauran and her bridesmaids got ready and got Lauran into her gorgeous strapless dress, effortlessly. On a different floor, Dominic got ready with his best man and family. They opted not to see each other before the ceremony and were not too nervous.

Lauren’s Gorgeous Accessories This image requires a bit of explanation! Apparently Lauran spent quite a bit of time toning her arms leading up to her wedding day. She did a fabulous job – look at those muscles!

Lauran’s smile is gorgeous, no doubt – its also quite infectious and radiant! Isn’t she gorgeous?

We then made our way to the beautiful church for the ceremony. As is common in older Boston churches, it did not have air conditioning; however, I don’t believe this is the reason why Dominic is wiping his brow (see below). He looked slightly nervous, but as soon as he saw Lauran, his nerves melted.

After the ceremony, Lauran and Dominic celebrate with some champagne in the limo. We head over to Boston’s Waterfront as well as the Boston Public Garden for some Wedding Party photos and portraits of the two of them.

The reception began soon after at Maggiano’s Little Italy. Filled with great music, delicious Italian food, and great company, Lauran and Dominic’s reception was filled with celebration.

Phoebe + Eric, Engaged [Boston Waterfront]

I recently shared just two images from an engagement session with Phoebe and Eric, on Boston’s Waterfront. We ventured here to find a unique place that would have a skyline view of Boston’s skyline. Well, we got some mean clouds and overcast skies and made the most of it. Here are a few more of this adorable couple!

How cute are these two?

The make-up of this pedestrian bridge reminds me a lot of the Eiffel Tower, hence the processing done on these images. A little bit of Paris in Boston. Congratulations again! November will be here before you know it!

Mike + Siobhan, Engaged [Boston Public Garden]

Mike and Siobhan are getting married in a few weeks and I’m very excited for their wedding! As I shared in last week’s post, these two will be leaving Boston for good soon after their wedding and they will be missed. These pictures in the Boston Public Garden should help them commemorate their time in this city. Enjoy!

Apparently Mike loves to make this face for photos and it cracks Siobhan up!

Lacey & Dave were married on Saturday, June 19th at Boston’s Old South Church, with a fantastic reception at the Hyatt Harborside Hotel. We had such a great time riding the party bus, hitting the Boston Public Garden and the Beach in Southie. During the reception, we had a rockin’ time doing some Photobooth pictures – see a sampling in the Slideshow below. Congratulations to you both! It was an honor to hang out with such a great crowd. What do you get for flaunting that shiny new rock? The winner will receive a Full Engagement Session and a Wedding Guestbook, a value of $400 PLUS the winners of each local Flaunt Your Ring contests will be placed in a national contest to win a grand prize worth $450+. The grand prize includes custom invites from Paper & Ink Studio, a wedding cake topper from Custom Cake Toppers, a custom clutch from Clutch That and a wedding accessory from Little White Chapel Accessories!

THE DETAILS:

• Submit 1 photograph of your ring & 1 photograph of yourselves (please, no images taken by another professional photographer).

• Encourage all of your friends and family to vote for you. The ring with the most votes wins!

• Engaged couples only.

All submissions must be received by midnight March 15th, 2010.

Entries will be judged by a panel of photographers who will narrow down the selection to 5 rings. The finalists will be posted on Helen Makadia’s blog and the winner will be chosen via a public voting poll. Voting will occur between March 16-March 30, 2010. There are specific rules around voting that will be clarified during the voting round of the contest.

Winners will be announced on April 1, 2010. Winning session must take place between April 2 -May 31, 2010. Winners must sign a release to allow Helen Makadia Photography to display images on blog, website, Facebook Business Page and any other print or web materials as deemed appropriate.
