The Boston Marathon is a true Boston tradition, always held on Patriots Day, with unpredictable weather and usually a big turnout of supporters.  I went to watch the Marathon briefly today at the bottom of Heartbreak Hill (Commonwealth Avenue/Walnut Street) in Newton.  Here are a few snapshots I took while I was there.

On Sunday, January 31, 2010, Longwood Symphony Orchestra and New England Conservatory joined forces for Symphonic Relief for Haiti, A Global Concert to benefit Partners in Health.  The concert, held at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall, was an amazing joining of vocal and musical talent to raise money for Partners in Health, benefiting Haiti.  To follow the efforts, please visit www.symphonicrelief.org.  The concert on Sunday is one of many concerts occurring worldwide.  This concert will be Broadcast on Sunday, February 7, 2010, at 10PM on WSBK TV38.

Having worked with Longwood Symphony Orchestra in the past, I jumped at the opportunity to donate my time and photograph this event.  I urge you all to view the Broadcast on Sunday, February 7, 2010 or if you are not local, check out this site which may have information on concerts in your area.

Meet Hilary & George, a beautiful couple! Hilary was so gorgeous in her beautiful gown, complemented with beautiful navy blue bridesmaids dresses. George and his men were sharply dressed as well in suits. I was honored to photograph their beautiful wedding at the Wollaston Golf Club in the Blue Hills in Milton, MA on Saturday, August 22, 2009. Despite the weather (which had been filled with record temperatures here in Boston for the summer and the humidity) everyone had a great day! Hilary, George, baby George, the Wedding Party, Parents, Grandparents, and Guests were all such a pleasure to photograph and certainly made the day their own!

A huge thanks to everyone who helped make this day run smoothly including Lisa and her wonderful staff at the Wollaston GC, the ceremony musicians, the wonderful officiant, and finally Dan Flynn/Marathon Entertainment who played a great mix to keep the dance floor going all night.

Lastly, AND certainly not least, Hilary and George’s families and friends for such a great time!

Rocco & Lina were surprised this past weekend with a Renewal of Vows ceremony and celebration put together by their wonderful children and grandchildren. The celebration wasn’t a complete surprise, but they were left in the dark as to the details of the day. Little did they know it was a big and formal affair!

When Kate, Matt’s wife, asked me if I would be interested in photographing her husband’s surprise birthday party, I was very intrigued. I was even more interested when she mentioned that she was having an 80s theme to the party and wanted to make it a night to remember for Matt. Well, I think Matt was surprised when he got there. Here are a few pics of his arrival, the 80′s photo booth we set up and some dancing.

I had the please of working with Boston’s Longwood Symphony Orchestra during the month of August.  I photographed several rehearsals, their concert at Walnut Hill School, and their performance on August 20th, at the Hatch Shell in Boston.  Lainey Schulbaum and Philip Doyle recorded the audio and mixed the soundtrack to two movies we put together.

Many of you may not realize that this talented group of musicians have a day job – most of them are in the medical field.  We put together two interviews of the Orchestra’s members, Dr. Lisa Wong and Dr. Dany Krause.
